The road to higher education for Arab students is paved with challenges—language barriers, limited proficiency in Hebrew and English, demanding pre-academic exams, and the weight of socio-economic struggles. Yet, beneath these obstacles lies immense potential—young men and women with dreams, talent, and a deep desire to succeed who find the doors to academia closed because of these hurdles.
Imagine having the ambition to change your future yet being held back by circumstances beyond your control. This is the reality for many Arab students. For years, overcoming these barriers meant travelling far, often at great expense, to access the tools they needed to succeed. But now, here in the heart of Nazareth, through the Afik Maavar Program—a gateway to the Joint BA Nursing Program in collaboration with the SON and Ono College—we are changing that reality.
This program does more than teach Hebrew or prepare students for exams. It gives them hope, empowers them to rise above the barriers that have held them back, and opens doors to a world of opportunity—higher education, fulfilling careers, and the chance to make a difference in their communities.
Nursing is not just a profession; it is a calling to serve, heal, and care. Through Afik Maavar, these students are prepared academically and given the confidence to take their first step toward a brighter future. They gain the tools to face challenges head-on and emerge ready to contribute to society with pride and purpose.
Together, we can break the cycle of barriers and open the door to a future filled with possibility, dignity, and achievement. Join us in making a lasting impact. Support the Afik Maavar Program and help us empower the next generation of nurses and leaders from the Arab community.
